About Soekarno-Hatta Airport

Opened on 1 May 1985 to replace Kemayoran Airport, Soekarno-Hatta was designed by French architect Paul Andreu and won the 1995 Aga Khan Award for Architecture. It handled 54.95 million passengers in 2025, the 31st busiest airport in the world.

Always check the airport code on your ticket: Jakarta has two airports — Soekarno-Hatta (CGK) and Halim Perdanakusuma (HLP). They are separate airports several kilometres apart, and picking the wrong one can cost you a missed flight.
