Departure procedure
- Confirm your terminal — check your booking and the flight information screens; Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are separate buildings served by the free Skytrain.
- Check-in — present your ticket and valid ID at the airline counter, or use self-service check-in where your airline provides it. Check-in typically closes 45 minutes before an international departure — follow your airline’s guidance.
- Baggage — checked-baggage allowances depend on your airline and fare; check your ticket for the weight and size limits.
- Security — carry-on bags are screened by X-ray; have your boarding pass, ticket and passport ready.
- Waiting and boarding — proceed to the gate shown on your boarding pass; boarding typically closes 15–20 minutes before departure.
Terminal 1
Terminal 1 opened in 1985 on the southern side of the airport. Its three sub-terminals (A, B and C) each offer 25 check-in counters, 23 aerobridges, five baggage carousels and seven gates, for up to 9 million passengers a year. Sub-terminals 1B and 1C were renovated and reopened in 2025.
Terminal 2
Opened in 1991 on the north-western side, Terminal 2 mirrors Terminal 1 with three sub-terminals (D, E and F). Terminals 2D and 2E became the international low-cost carrier terminal in 2019, while 2F has served hajj and umrah flights since 2025.
Terminal 3
Terminal 3, reopened as Terminal 3 Ultimate in 2016, is the largest terminal: 422,804 m² with 112 check-in counters and 59 aerobridges, and 10 international and 18 domestic gates. Its contemporary glass-and-steel design differs from the Javanese style of Terminals 1 and 2.
On the day
- Internet access is available in the terminals; the current network is posted on site.
- Allow a generous buffer: at least 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international flight.
- Connecting to another flight? The free Skytrain takes about 7 minutes from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3; check the minimum connection time with your airline.
